What is BOSS and who should attend?
Building Organizational Sector Sustainability (BOSS) is British Columbia’s largest not–for–profit conference. This event is a space for dialogue, collaboration, and the development of game–changing tactics to strengthen our province through partnerships and investments with the not–for–profit sector.The conversations, learnings, and connections happening at BOSS are relevant to anyone who wants to make positive change to strengthen BC’s not–for–profit sector, including Executive Directors, not–for–profit leaders and emerging leaders, board members, Indigenous leaders, government leaders, and not–for–profit stakeholders.
Where is BOSS happening?
The BOSS conference will take place virtually through Whova, an event management platform. Attendees can access conference activities, sessions, and social events through their web browser or mobile device
How can I register?

Is the Web App compatible with all browsers?
Google Chrome is the preferred browser to view live sessions during the conference. Some streaming software may have compatibility issues with other browsers. Internet Explorer is not compatible with the streaming service.
Is there a guide for Whova?
Yes! We recommend reviewing the Attendee User Guide for step–by–step instructions on how to:
- Access the Web and Mobile Apps
- View the conference agenda and plan your schedule
- Access live streamed events and use the session Q&A feature
- Make the most of networking opportunities by seeing who is attending the event and sending direct messages
- Joining discussions on the community boards
- Starting or joining a virtual meetup
What if I need technical support during the conference?
Our Technical Support team will be available each day of the conference, from 30 minutes before the first session until the end of the day’s last session. You can reach them through the “Tech Help Desk” forum in the Community section of Whova.
How can I connect with other attendees during the virtual conference?
There are several ways to connect with fellow attendees virtually, including:
- Community message boards
- Virtual meetups and one-on-one chats
- Evening social events
